In this residential
project, two sets of stairs were erected of counter
leaver iron and wood. The stairs were accompanied
by a railing that emerges from glass. It was important
to the client that the stairs be visible through the
glass. In order to accommodate this look, a very slim
railing had to be created. To handle this, CMG designed
a strong tube that would support the wood of the stairs,
and designed the glass pieces using templates. Finally,
the railing is a flat bar that was designed to emerge
from the glass, allowing it to almost visually disappear
into the glass, giving an intriguing appearance to
the piece overall. |
