This project
required building a luxurious space that was to serve
as the commercial office of a diamond company. The
client wanted a strong and luxurious look infused
with glass, however, CMG was tasked with achieving
this in a very small, tight space. To create a space
that fit the vision of the client, CMG built a mezzanine
in the small office, which can be reached by stone
stairs. Using steel support hidden behind limestone
in the wall, CMG was able to create these stone stairs.
A glass wall then comes from the stairs and reaches
up toward the second floor. This glass acts as support
for the stairs and provides a railing to the stairs
on the second floor. Glass surrounding this staircase
creates openness in the room, keeping the stairs visible
while still providing the necessary support. |
